Position Purpose:
The Student Housing Specialist is responsible for managing student housing applications at Charis Bible College. They work closely with prospective and current students to ensure a smooth transition into campus housing, provide support and guidance throughout the housing application process, and maintain accurate records. Additionally, they collaborate with college staff to address any housing-related issues or concerns regarding admissions and strive to create a safe, supportive, and welcoming living environment for all students.
Essential Duties:
- Assist prospective students with inquiries related to on-campus housing options, application procedures, and deadlines.
- Provide guidance and information to students regarding housing policies, amenities, and living arrangements.
- Process housing applications, review eligibility criteria, and ensure all required documentation & deposits are completed accurately and on time.
- Work in collaboration with the Admissions team to assist the students in an overall success plan for relocation.
- Collaborate with the Residence Life Team in the Housing Admissions process.
- Maintain accurate records of student housing applications, assignments, and occupancy status using the college's housing management system.
- Prepare housing reports, statistical data, and other documentation for college administration and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with campus departments to ensure seamless integration of housing services with overall student support initiatives.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of housing policies, regulations, and best practices in higher education.
- Strong interpersonal communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse student populations and college staff.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications and housing management software.
- Must be able to effectively operate a Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commitment to upholding the mission and values of Charis Bible College.
Requirements:
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Must sign the Statement of Faith.
- A high School Diploma or equivalent education is required.
- Charis Bible College student or graduate is preferred.
- Must pass all required checks.
Experience:
- Previous experience in property management, student housing management, admissions, or residential life at a college or university is preferred.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience.
