Dedicated Infrastructure Services Systems Engineer

Location: Bethesda, MD

Dedicated onsite with client 5 days, available to travel to other nearby clients when needed.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Because of our incredible growth, we are looking to add a full-time, experienced Dedicated Infrastructure Services Systems Engineer. Reporting into our Director of Infrastructure Services, you will design, implement, maintain, and support network infrastructure for our assigned department clients. You will review and implement network or system and provide Tier-3 level infrastructure support to assigned clients and dedicated IT operational personnel.

You will also:

Infrastructure Work:

• Configure, install, and troubleshoot network devices and services
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, patches, hot fixes and security updates
• Windows Server troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Specify system requirements and design solutions
• Configure, install, troubleshoot, and support Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS & DHCP; Microsoft Exchange Server/Exchange Online; MFA, SSO, & MDM; remote access technologies including Citrix, RDS and VPN; WAN devices, Hypervisors, SAN, NAS; wireless controllers and access points, routers, firewalls and network switches; cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google)

Maintenance & Administration:

• Support and administer networks and servers
• Routinely evaluate network performance
• Oversee the administration of network infrastructure and the resources on which it relies including vendors & dependent services\organizations
• Support and administer third-party cloud applications
• Work as a point of escalation for your site
• Mentor site members

Proactive Support:

• Identify needed updates, communicate the need, and proactively implement them, within contract guidelines
• Document changes to client environments, in accordance with change management policies
• Provide communication during the troubleshooting of complex service outages

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

A DIS Systems Engineer understands the best practices around management of server infrastructure. You have broad knowledge of current IT infrastructure trends and cloud services with a background as a network engineer or network administrator. You also thrive in diverse environments and have proven skills to mentor and lead teams. You will also have:

• BSc/BA in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience
• MCSA, MCSE, AWS/Azure, H/W Vendor certifications or equivalent experience
• 2 years of AWS EC2 or MS Azure experience
• 7 - 10 years of relevant experience working in a computer support role
• Experience with MFA, SSO, and O365 preferred.
• Experience with SonicWALL, Meraki, Datto, and ConnectWise preferred.
• Full technical understanding and expertise in the following: Windows Server, Linux Server, Public and private DNS functionality, Active Directory support, VPN support and configuration, File server support and configuration, RDS environment support, Hypervisors and Cloud Technology
