Position Description:

SPN Solutions is seeking to hire a senior level, skilled System/Server Engineer, Sr. to support ongoing critical requirements with one of our Defense customers in Bethesda, MD. The System/Server Engineer, Sr. will be responsible for a demonstrated ability to independently design, configure, test implement, and support networked voice UC system’s server support activities, and ability to support application programmers working in that environment. System/Server Engineer, Sr. will function as part of a team, inclusive of customers, and must demonstrate sufficient written and communication skills to ensure success.

Required Experience and Skills:

· Minimum six (6) years hands on relevant experience.

· Four-year bachelor’s degree.

· AVAYA CM Certification required, or equivalent experience.

· Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients.

· Extensive knowledge of project management processes, systems development methods, organizational change management concepts, and business process improvement methods.

· In-depth knowledge of project planning techniques and automated project planning tools.

· Ability to work in a team environment.

· Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

· Experience with project cost management and resource capacity planning.

· Experience with Business Process development and Change Management.

Job Duties:

· Demonstrated ability to independently design, configure, test, implement and maintain networked system server support activities, and ability to support application programmers working in that environment.

· Demonstrated hands-on experience with UC Voice System.

· Provide high level technical and support for systems, servers, and storage design, implementation, and operations tasks, including the review of work products for correctness, adherence to the design concept and to user standards and progress in accordance with schedules.

· Independently evaluate and resolve system, servers, storage, and processing problems.

· Design, configure and implement system, servers, and storage architecture designs.

· Evaluate performance using hardware and software diagnostic tools.

· Lead the designing, planning and installation of new systems, servers, storage, and hardware.

· Evaluate changes for operational impact. Make recommendations for approval of systems, servers, and storage installations.

· Prepare milestone status reports and deliveries/presentations on systems, servers, and storage progress to stakeholders, colleagues, subordinates, and end user representatives.

· Oversee the performance of System/ Server Engineers.

· Responsible for inventory documentation.

· Flexible work schedule to provide support for after-hours downtime and issues as needed.

· Work with Information Assurance engineers to ensure all systems and servers meet DoD RMF requirements.

· DAS. – Support, Report, Issues/Outages
