Position Summary
Our Amwins AccessUnderwriter Development Programis designed to guide participants through an intensive2.5-year professional development program, where candidates will participate in technical and sales workshops, on the job training, mentoring, and attendance at industry events. The program is designed to accelerate candidates toward a career as aProduction Underwriter at Amwins Access..
This position will bein personin ourBaton Rouge, LAoffice with theoccasional travelto our regional offices for additional training.
Upon graduation of the 2.5 Year UDP program, duties of the Production Underwriter role will include:
Successfully create and manage a profitable book of new and renewal business
Prospect for new business by developing relationships with retail agents through both traditional and creative marketing strategies
Remain up to date with new insurance companies' offers and how to leverage them
Prospect for new business markets and/or lines to write with sales techniques based in trust and relationship building
Mentor and train new team members
Program Assets:

Ability to specialize in Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, or Garage

Requirements:
What we are looking for:
Higher education preferred
Less than 3 years of insurance experience, preferred no prior underwriting experience
Individuals who desire and can hit metrics throughout the entire training program within a sales environment
