Amoura Development Company Inc is Hiring a General Manager Near South San Francisco, CA

Summary: Amoura, a Michelin and Zagat rated fine-casual restaurant in South San Francisco, is a family run business serving Mediterranean food with a twist.

We are looking for an amazing Restaurant Manager to represent our family overseeing the restaurant in an efficient, professional manner according to high standards by performing the following duties:

  • Controls day-to-day operations by scheduling labor, ordering food and supplies, and overseeing all daily operations
  • Prepares the annual budget and plans for the restaurant including sales goals, profit projections, capital, and staff requirements
  • Manages a full-service bar with specialty cocktails
  • Coordinates several private events simultaneously
  • Oversees and manages the restaurant’s catering department within the policies and guidelines of the company, ensuring 100% customer satisfaction at all times
  • Builds a catering team, both in-house and delivery
  • Interacts with corporate clients to meet and exceeds their expectations
  • Executes, documents and maintains all catering systems and procedures in an organized manner on a daily basis
  • Recruits, interviews, and hires team members, motivates and trains, conducts performance reviews, and takes disciplinary action when needed
  • Develops restaurant procedures to ensure location is operating efficiently
  • Weekly implementation, development and maintenance of systems and procedures for ordering, inventory and food/beverage controls
  • Controls profit & loss by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions
  • Reviews the general business climate for the restaurant and adjusts staff and inventories as needed
  • Ensures financial reporting is consistent with restaurant standards and produced monthly
  • Promotes and directs restaurant marketing programs, especially on social media
  • Manages customer complaints both in person and over the phone as well as assists in managing online reviews on Yelp, Google, etc
  • Creates a safe working and customer experience environment by facilitating safe work behaviors of the team
  • Ensures customers are serviced at the highest level of satisfaction through quality food and excellent customer service
  • Reports status information to ownership on a regular basis
  • Contracts for and follows up general maintenance and repair to the facility
  • Provides guidance and direction to employees to assist in their professional development
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of management experience in the restaurant industry, fine dining a plus
  • Has a passion for food and service
  • Diverse wine knowledge, including regions, appellations and vintages
  • Ability to adapt to changes taking place in the restaurant industry during Covid-19 pandemic
  • Previous human resources experience, a plus
  • Ability to work independently and without direct guidance
  • Full proficiency in OpenTable, Yelp Reservations, Aloha, and Microsoft/Google Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) required
  • Self-starter with strong work ethics
  • Possesses a proven ability to contribute original and creative ideas that assure positive results for the business
  • Champions recognition and motivation effort
  • Strong operational skills in a customer service environment
  • Culinary & central kitchen management skills, a plus
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Vendor negotiations & purchasing
  • Catering & special event experience
  • Supervisory skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Relationship builder
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
