Job Description Information Security Engineer, San Diego, CA (Hybrid) **This role doesn't provide sponsorship or H1 transfer. As a key member of our Information Security team, the Information Security Analyst II will take a front and center role in designing and implementing security protocols across diverse environments, including Azure, AWS, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and on-premises infrastructure. This role’s activities span and impact multiple Information and Technology (I&T) groups and business units. The Security Analyst II must demonstrate initiative and collaboration with other business and technology teams to gain collaborator confidence and trust of peers and leadership in their endeavor to defend systems and harden environments. Job Tasks: Enforce policies, security controls, and defend the enterprise using sophisticated threat detection and response technologies and security tools. Implement, manage, and optimize Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) solutions to improve threat transparency and incident response capabilities. Implement and lead all aspects of comprehensive threat prevention solutions, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS/IPS), and sophisticated Endpoint Security. Apply knowledge of cloud security basics to administer, monitor, and secure cloud infrastructure across platforms such as Azure and AWS. Coordinate and provide support for Zscaler technologies, ensuring secure and efficient traffic routing and protection against cyber threats. Apply standard methodologies in identity and access management, including multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, and related technologies, to improve cloud security. Use SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk) to produce detailed security reports, providing insights into risks, vulnerabilities, and incident trends. Facilitate communication and coordination as the Single Point of Contact between the Information Security team and the SOC team. Play a key role in security investigations and the evaluation of the impact related to incidents. Actively supervise infrastructure, proactively seeking out vulnerabilities and potential security threats. Monitor, respond to, and optimally close information security requests and tickets, ensuring timely resolution. Assist in the establishment of a network security architecture review and governance process in accordance with policies, standards, and industry validated practices. Produce security reports for internal use, offering periodic status updates to make leadership and management aware of risks and vulnerabilities related to both cloud and on-prem infrastructure. Experience: 5 years of overall IT experience with network, systems, and cloud administration. 2 years of experience in information and cybersecurity detect, defend, and remediate disciplines. Experience with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS administration and security management. Hands-on experience with various SIEM and Security tools (i.e., Splunk, Veracode, Cisco, Palo Alto, Zscaler, Symantec, Proofpoint, etc.). Education and Certifications: BS or equivalent experience in computer science, information technology, or a similar field is preferred. At least one (two preferred) certification in InfoSec and Cloud domains like Security , CEH, MS Azure Security Engineer, MS Azure Administration, CCNA Security, CCSP, or any other similar InfoSec certification.
