The Data Architect - Language Services will be a key player in crafting and optimizing our data architecture to drive informed decision-making and propel our organization forward. This role demands a top-tier professional with expertise in database design, ETL processes, Salesforce integration, and proficiency in technologies such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, Pentaho Data Integration (or similar), and Power BI. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, design efficient database structures, and implement robust ETL processes. Salesforce integration and optimization, advanced SQL skills, and implementing Snowflake data lakes are integral aspects of this role. Duties and Responsibilities: Database Design and Management Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design efficient and scalable database structures using PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Snowflake Implement best practices for database performance tuning, indexing, and data partitioning Conduct regular data maintenance tasks, including data purging, archiving, and ensuring data consistency and integrity ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Develop, implement, and maintain robust ETL processes using tools such as Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) to ensure seamless data integration across various systems Collaborate with data engineers to identify and resolve data quality issues during the ETL process Monitor ETL job performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize workflows for efficiency Salesforce Integration Work closely with Salesforce administrators and developers to design and implement data integration solutions between Salesforce and other systems Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data transferred between Salesforce and other databases. Provide expertise in Salesforce data modeling and architecture SQL Expertise Utilize advanced SQL skills to create and modify complex queries, stored procedures, and triggers for data analysis and reporting Collaborate with data analysts and business users to understand reporting requirements and translate them into efficient SQL queries Optimize SQL queries for performance and resource utilization Snowflake Data Management Leverage the capabilities of the Snowflake data platform to architect and implement scalable and efficient data solutions Utilize Snowflake features for data warehousing, such as virtual warehouses, clusters, and multi-cluster warehouses, to optimize query performance Design and implement data governance policies within Snowflake to ensure data security, compliance, and access control Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Snowflake seamlessly into the broader data architecture Stay informed about the latest features and functionalities of Snowflake, exploring and applying innovative solutions to enhance data processing and analytics Power BI Integration Collaborate with business analysts to understand reporting requirements and design effective Power BI data models Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders Integrate Power BI solutions with other data sources and ensure optimal performance General Accept ownership of the Language Services data pictures – data dictionary, determination of systems of record, application of business rules, data migration processes, etc. Deliver upon the technology road map in alignment with Language Services leadership to improve the underlying costs and capabilities of the AMN Language Services portfolio Adherence to coding policies, technical documentation and operational discipline as defined by the software development policies Excellent communication skills for team leadership, software release documentation, client response and leadership team updates Responsibilities include involvement in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (i.e. Agile/Scrum) including technical requirements' analysis, technical design, development, testing, code deployment, and production support Responsible for risk identification and risk mitigation strategies associated with the software including alignment to AMN Information Security policies and procedures Facilitator of on-call process and events during event escalations for application downtime and degraded performance Required Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Proven experience (5 years) as a Data Architect or in a similar role In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, Pentaho, and Power BI are required Strong understanding of database design principles, data modeling, and normalization Familiarity with Database Administration activities, tools and processes Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and optimizing database performance Experience with ETL tools and processes, with a focus on data integration and transformation Familiarity with Salesforce data architecture and integration Preferred Experience: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Certifications in relevant technologies, such as Snowflake and Power BI Experience with cloud platforms, such as Azure and AWS Knowledge of best practices in data governance and compliance Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work optimally in cross-functional teams Proven ability to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data architecture Key Skills Ability to “own” the data big picture and understand how to modify it to solve business problems Customer-first mentality; ability to empathize and create customer loyalty Ability to effectively relate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and articulating the business value of a given technical solution Our Core Values Respect ● Passion ● Continuous Improvement ● Trust ● Customer Focus ● Innovation At AMN Healthcare, our diversity, equity, and inclusion philosophy is grounded in the belief that we should respect all voices, seek different perspectives, and succeed when we act together as a positive force for all of humanity.
