    Summary

    The Human Resources Generalist and Recruiter’s position responsibility falls into several categories including staffing/recruitment, employee on-boarding and off-boarding, benefits and salary administration, Human Resource Information System (HRIS) maintenance and data integrity, manager and employee services, employee relations, and HR process implementation and support, with a strong focus on customer service and support to the success and advancement of the business. Must have strong communication and organizational skills, strong multitasking skills, be customer service driven, enjoy juggling several projects at a time, and have a passion for supporting the Human Resources department to deliver results that are in line with the vision of the company.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supports the Human Resources Department in all daily duties to include compensation, benefits, employee relations, contractor agreements, personnel file maintenance, staffing, employee onboarding, orientation and exits
    • Leads by example with regards to safety
    • Assists in staffing and recruiting support including job posting, resume reviews, candidate communication, scheduling, background screening, pre-employment drug screening, offer letter generation and preliminary on-boarding
    • Maintains appropriate recordkeeping to support Affirmative Action and EEO requirements.
    • Coordinates all activities for new employee on-boarding including first day orientation, employee payroll and benefit portal training, as well as job specific on-boarding training and activities
    • Coordinates employee off-boarding including exit interviews and exit process
    • Creates and maintains employee files and updates information in appropriate databases
    • Handles employment verifications
    • Assists with administration of Health and Welfare plans including new hire enrollment, open enrollment and terminations. Processes required documentation through payroll and insurance providers to ensure proper deductions.
    • Acts as liaison between the company and its providers - fostering effective relationships with client representatives.
    • Maintains Workers’ Compensation records and manages claims.
    • Provides continuous education to employees on handbook, benefit and compliance related issues
    • Works closely with Payroll to help maintain payroll systems, employee records, audits payroll and benefit systems for discrepancies, make corrections/adjustments as needed
    • Assists in resolving employee relations issues at the direction of the Vice President, Human Resources
    • Scheduling and support for training and development initiatives and in certain instances, facilitating training (i.e. New Hire Orientation)
    • Maintains the door access system, including generating new employee ID cards and deactivating terminated employee cards
    • Establishes strong working relationships throughout the company with a customer service-oriented philosophy so that people will want to seek out HR for help in working through organizational and people issues
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in HR Management, Business Administration or equivalent preferred
    • 5 years’ experience providing Human Resource support in a manufacturing environment
    • Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Prior experience with HRIS and report writing preferred
    • Occasional travel required
    • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
    • Must be able to work in the US
    • Multi-lingual communication abilities strongly preferred

    • Requires effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization and also individuals outside of the organization
    • Requires excellent interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations, subsequent documentation and the ability to maintain absolute discretion at all times
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word software
    • Experience with an HRIS database preferred
    • Maintain affiliation with human resources programs and HR organizations
