The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Laborer-Junior to support Electromagnetic Environmental Effects. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

About the location:

Patuxent River, Maryland #1 City Hiring the Most High-Tech Workers (California-Lexington Park, Maryland).

A typical day as a Laborer may include:

• Supports the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Naval Electromagnetic Radiation Facility (NERF) by assisting with the reconfiguration, upkeep and maintenance of RF testing systems/HVAC systems
• Preforms general laborer duties as assigned in both indoor and outdoor industrial environments
• Obtains tasking from a supervisor
• Conducts maintenance on equipment
• Conducts facility maintenance such as snow removal
• Lifts, moves and reconfigures test equipment, antennas and cables
• Conducts distance measurements
• Controls access to the test site
• Acts as safety observer reporting any safety issues

Must-haves:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience working with hand and power tools
• Desire to proactively seek out work
• Interest working outdoors in the heat and cold
• Willingness to take direction and provide superior customer service
• The ability to work overtime
• Excellent time management skills and proven dependability
• Strong attention to detail during tasking
• Prior experience working with desktop computers
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills:

• Previous experience operating fork lifts and other equipment
• Electronic cable manufacturing and general fabrication skills
• Prior experience in electronics or electronics repair
• Experience working around aircraft
• Experience conducting general building maintenance

• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Skills Crucial to Success at AMEWAS:

Candidates must have a customer-focused attitude with a high level of professionalism and discretion, and have the ability to work effectively with both management, and as part of a team, to meet project targets.

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site. In some occasions, the employee may be required to report to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, overnight travel may be required.

The physical environment requires the employee to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs. and/or operating machinery to assist in the movement of heavy objects, such as forklifts and dollies. This position may also require driving government vehicles.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
