Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Trailer Technician! The Trailer Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 7 - 8 trailers and will operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation. Air Brakes, 90 BIT & DOT Inspections and Repairs on Class 7-8 Trailers. This role also receives a monthly incentive based on your SRT times. 

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday!

Days: Tuesday - Sunday

Shift: 9:00 pm - 5:30 am

$24.00 - $28.00 hour DOE

$100 Bonus plus cost for ASE Certs

$250 Paid on 2nd Check for onboarding

$15,000 up to Bonus annually for SRT 

$1,000 Referral fee for every Technician referral works 90 days

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

What the Trailer Technician role looks like:

• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other duties as required

Key Competencies and Minimum Education

What our ideal candidate looks like:

• Must have at least 2 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
• Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
• Must provide own hand tools
• Perform DOT inspections
• Basic computer skills
• Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
