Job Purpose:

The Brake Press Lead will provide supervisory and coaching direction to associates operating equipment in the Brake Press and Assembly area. This individual will also assist in training new employees, job processes, safe operation of equipment, and company culture and values.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor and coordinate efficient employee work activities and workload while maintaining quality rating above 98%, on time shipping above 90%.
• Supervises set-ups and operating brake press equipment, assists in set ups, select correct tooling, set-up and operate PEM-Setter machines, and accurately count and palletize products.
• Resolve process, product, equipment, and production issues, support actions to improve measured Quality Objectives in On Time Delivery, % Lot Yield and % Parts Yield.
• Aid sales in estimation new jobs, ensure current jobs are estimated correctly.
• Supervise and provide leadership in a professional manner to direct staff including training employees, assigning work, appraise performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints and notify Plant Manager of manufacturing or personnel problems or injuries.
• Maintain responsibilities as identified in the Quality Management System.
• Stop the process if non-conforming exists and notify Plant Manager.
• Inspect the materials produced for quality and conformity: correct any inconsistencies.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned by the manager.

Education/Experience:

• Post-Secondary Education or equivalent experience in leadership in a manufacturing setting.
• Exemplary motor skills are required for the position.
• Exceptional knowledge of set-up, operation, and training of brake press equipment, advanced understanding of Blueprints.
