The Manager of Retail Sales will be crucial in overseeing the sales team, consisting of internal captive agents and external brokers specializing in selling Medicare/Medicaid and Exchange ACA plans. The manager will drive the achievement of sales targets, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and policies. 

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of internal captive agents and external brokers, providing guidance, inspiration, and motivation to optimize performance and achieve sales goals.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance sales skills, product knowledge, and compliance with industry regulations, improving overall team performance.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that values teamwork, continuous learning, and individual growth.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement corrective actions to ensure the team's success. 

Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies, goals, and targets that align with the organization's overall business objectives, focusing on the sale of Medicare/Medicaid and exchange ACA plans.
  • Monitor market trends, stay up-to-date with industry developments, and identify opportunities to capitalize on emerging market needs and demands.
  • Analyze sales data and performance metrics regularly to assess team and individual performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop adequate sales collateral, promotional materials, and campaigns to support sales efforts. 

Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, third-party partners, and regulatory bodies, to enhance sales opportunities and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Engage in regular communication and feedback loops with brokers and agents to foster a positive working relationship, promptly address any concerns or challenges, and ensure high-quality customer service.
  • Conduct regular meetings, trainings, and workshops to disseminate updates, foster teamwork, drive performance, and maintain alignment with the organization's goals.

 Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, industry standards, and company policies related to the sale of Medicare/Medicaid and exchange ACA plans.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of sales reports, documentation, licensing, and certifications, adhering to internal and external requirements.
  • Stay informed about changes in government policies, insurance regulations, and market dynamics impacting the sale of Medicare/Medicaid and exchange ACA plans, and ensure necessary adaptations and compliance measures are implemented.

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • 3 to 5 years experience in captive insurance business development, traditional risk financing, and alternative risk financing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with the specific population (dual eligible, Medicaid, Medicare, and ACA Health Plans)
  • Ability to understand the process of generating leads from referrals and local strategic research and prospecting
  • Ability to clearly explain the benefits offered by AMFC’s D-SNP plan and Individual ACA Plans in a manner that ensures beneficiaries understand eligibility requirements
  • Will work closely with Sales Director and Captive agents to identify and educate potential members and participate in promotional activities
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers, and customers
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license and mode of transportation and must have a Health Producers Insurance license in good standing
