Responsibilities

Primary Responsibility: Operates and maintains the inventory of the warehouse. Supervises and coordinates receiving, storing, inventory, holding and shipping product. Essential Functions: • Advise associates on care and preservation, handling, storing, maintenance and shipping of product. • Train associates in equipment operations, safety and general operations. • Assign and direct work and monitor performance of shipping and receiving employees. Schedule tasks to maximize efficiency. • Make recommendations regarding hiring, promoting, discipline and training. Ensure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action. • Resolve grievances among workers. • Monitor system-generated reports to identify errors in procedure and take corrective action. • Maintain warehouse invalid list at acceptable levels. • Conduct bay counts to maintain accurate inventories. • Analyze data and make recommendations on product organization and storage practices. • Review records and comply with established procedures for storing and shipping product. • Communicate with General Manager on daily status of warehouse inventory. • Identify problem areas and make recommendations for corrective action. • Communicate with Operations Manager on the conditions of the freezer and inventory accuracy. • Other duties as requested.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience: • Associate’s Degree plus 2 years inventory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Proven supervisory skills. • Strong analytical and mathematical skills. • PC skills, including Microsoft Office. • Forklift license, CPR and First Aid training a plus. Physical Requirements While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to talk; hear; use hands to grasp, finger or feel objects; use close vision; use distance vision; sit; and use computer equipment. The employee is occasionally required to walk and lift up to 30 lbs. • Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions • Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending • Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work • Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks • May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business • May require a visit facility operations in temperatures at or below freezing • May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds • Requires the use of various electronic tools • Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes • Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management Americold is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
