A week in the life of a Senior Strategic Communications Specialist:

• Apply skills in communications, public relations, and/or journalism at the DoD and/or service component Headquarters level to develop social media communication strategies.
• Serve as the go to expert for providing high-quality written products, briefing materials, and other presentations and public facing products that convey accurate and compelling messages about the mission of the organization.
• Schedule speaking engagements and coordinate the associated logistics.
• Research technical issues and military trends, and craft speeches and presentations tailored to communicate those topics with specific audiences.
• Work closely with DoD senior leadership on the Mission Capabilities office’s roll of evaluating cutting-edge technology essential to the modernization and execution of our National Defense Strategy.

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or Communications.
• 10 years of experience in communications with DoD or the defense industry may be substituted for the specific educational requirements.
• Experience supporting high-ranking Defense Department Senior Executives and interacting with DoD Flag / General Officers and their support staffs.
• Active DoD TS/SCI.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
