We are looking for an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) with demonstrated experience in providing Cybersecurity and Information Assurance support for DoD requirements at Pentagon. 

As an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) you will:

• Support information security services for a Operations Navy office in the Pentagon and work with the Information Assurance community to design, document and apply security practices.
• Provide cybersecurity support including the investigation and reporting of any anomalous information found as a result of system audits and participate in the IA activities for compliance with DoD IA requirements.
• Be responsible for supporting the IA and Accreditation tasks for classified program networks and maintain the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) of all applicable IT systems. 
• Ensure compliance with the current DoD and IC information management/information technology (IM/IT) guidance.
• Protect and sustain the information assurance requirements for system and information availability, access control, integrity, confidentiality and non-repudiation for these environments.

A week in the life of an ISSO: 

• Bring a deep technical understanding (hands-on) of a broad set of back office systems and applications (e.g., Windows operating systems, Active Directory, MS Office, internetworking, etc.). 
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining an Authority to Operate (ATO) for the Enterprise assigned security impact levels for Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) as implemented by the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG). 
• Assist in creating and maintaining A&A documentation including the System Security Plan (SSP), Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM), General Users Guide (GUG), and Privileged Users Guide (PUG).
• Perform security systems engineering for various computer hardware and software operating system and application solutions in both stand-alone and LAN / WAN configurations.
• Perform tasks and duties in support of the remediation of Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) action items. Security Assessment Reports (SARs), or other activities the support maintaining a current ATO.
• Support the government IT Specialist with IT systems at the customer facility and other SAPFs in the Pentagon and Ft. Belvoir as needed. Tasks may include network management of guest systems, account generation and management, ticket facilitation, system development, action tracking, conference room VTC support, and coordination with external entities supporting networks.
• Perform network and system security administration including operating system security configuration and account management best practices for Windows, Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint, Red Hat Linux, Oracle, and Cisco systems.
• Perform vulnerability testing and mitigation using tools to include HBSS, ACAS, and SCCM.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, implementation of security controls in networking devices, databases, operating systems, hardware and software components, administer and managed IA Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA), and security POAMs

• 3 years of relevant experience working with classified systems
• CISSP or CISM Certification or any other compliant with IAM level II (It can be one of the following: CAP, CASP CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO, HCISPP) or IAT Level II (It can be one of the following: CCNA Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP, CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH).
• Technical understanding of a broad set of back office systems and applications (e.g., Windows operating systems, Active Directory, MS Office, internetworking, etc.).
• Technical understanding and experience of applying and executing IA policies and tasks (e.g., reviewing SSPs and addenda, conducting audits of operational systems by reviewing event logs, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with configuration and maintaining networking devices (e.g., firewalls, switches, routers, Taclanes, NSA Type I encryption, etc.).
• Clearance: Active Top Secret (SCI eligible)

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
