GENERAL MANAGER- Medico Linen, Long Beach, CA

The General Manager is responsible for oversight and leadership of the Engineering, Production, and Service, and Sales departments for the facility. The primary accountabilities of the role include oversight of plant budget, capital projects, technology transfer, performance and reliability of plant systems, corporate EOHS and Quality standards compliance. Additionally, the General Manager is responsible for identifying other potential opportunities for margin improvement. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.

• Assuring safety standards are met and followed by all team members.
• overseeing all the operational activities of the plant
• Overseeing all facets of a branch/depot operation.
• Continuously improving the quality of products to meet the set standards and customers’ requirements.
• Managing the performance of the team while ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations
• Controlling expenditure and managing capital requirements within a set budget
• Preparing production and performance reports for senior management
• Building effective professional working relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers and customers
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive maintenance program for the plant

• Ensuring that customer service and quality standards are met.
• Staffing and leading supervision.
• Developing and maintaining a team environment.
• Ensuring that financial goals are met.
• Training, motivating, and developing a strong team to fuel growth and profitability.
• Monitoring merchandise and inventory management.
• Ensuring that all required administrative functions are performed in accordance with policy and in a timely manner.

• Maintaining all administrative records
• Maintaining inventory levels and controlling the flow of production
• Maintaining positive labor relations with labor unions
• Builds awareness, understanding, and integration of the Company’s mission, guiding principles and vision.

• Provide tools/training to meet performance standards.
• Coach/motivate, allow team members to make decisions/mistakes and debrief on results.
• Challenge to bring new ideas, processes to improve the company. Ask, “how can we do this better”, “what are your thoughts”.

Qualifications/Traits:

• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Production Operations Management, or Engineering from an accredited university
• 7 to 10 years in operations at a director level or above
• Show excellent verbal and written communication skills, and superior organizational skills.
•  Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff.
• Exhibit a strong commitment to superior customer service and business growth.
• Display enthusiasm and exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Present strong supervisory skills and experience.
• Demonstrate exceptional leadership and strategic skills in the areas of production, sales, and service.

Physical:

• Repetitive motions limited to repeated sitting, bending, stretching, walking and standing
• Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs, carry up to 25 lbs, and move up to 25 lbs.
• Exposure to reasonable noise level, changes in temperature, odors, humidity, lint, and dust
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time.
