Summary – Job Responsibilities – Activities:

Functions:

  • Responsible for performing and managing the inspection of products at various stages of the production process in order to verify quality and reliability of products in accordance with required quality plans, drawings, specification, etc.
  • Responsible for completing and reviewing all applicable inspection documentation for completeness and accuracy while maintaining, protecting, and storing all files applicable to inspections.
  • Must be able to read and interpret written instructions, procedures, blueprints, diagrams, or other control procedures.
  • Must be able to perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, precision mechanical, functional, or electrical inspection of parts, assemblies, or final product in all stages of the production process (i.e. incoming, in-process and final inspection) using standard measuring devices such as micrometers, scales, fixtures, calipers, dial indicators, comparators, fixed gauges, multi meters, component testers, various surface plate set-ups, etc.
  • Must be able to initiate nonconforming material (NCM) reports and manage through completion.
  • Must be able to review and approve First Article Inspection reports per AS9102 and AMSC requirements.
  • Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
  • Has knowledge of standard practices that support ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001 standards.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.

Education – Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 7 years of quality experience, or its equivalent.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician preferred

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:

  • Required – Has the ability to maintain a professional rapport with peers while achieving results.
  • Required – Can effectively communicate to team members and supervisor regarding all activities related to job function.
  • Required – Ability to perform reading, writing, and math functions.
  • Required – Ability to interpret drawing, wiring, schematic and several other types of technical documentation.
  • Required – Ability to use / operate mechanical and electrical inspections equipment
  • Required – Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAIs) and aptitude for reviewing and approving
  • Required – Knowledge of Nonconforming Material Reports (NMR) and Root Cause / Corrective Actions, and aptitude for reviewing and approving.
  • Required – Knowledge of ISO Quality System principles
  • Required – Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred – Knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Quality Control Plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Preferred – Knowledge of CMM programing and processes.
  • Preferred – Knowledge of Oracle
  • Preferred – Knowledge of IPC-610 Standard for Inspection of Electronic Assemblies
  • Required – Covid-19 Vaccination
  • Required – U.S. Citizen
