American State Equipment is Hiring a Shop Service Manager - Wausau, WI Near Wausau, WI
Founded in 1957, American State Equipment Co., Inc. is a family-owned and operated independent construction equipment distributor with three branches in Wisconsin, two locations in Minnesota, and a subsidiary in Illinois. We offer a wide variety of new, used, and rental heavy equipment as well as complete parts and service support to contractors and the industry.
Responsibilities
- Oversee customer equipment brought in for repairs.
- Trucking logistics for equipment.
- Manages and coordinates repairs on equipment at the shop.
- Supervise all shop personnel, mechanics, welders, and monitor employee performance.
- Responsible for leading and assigning tasks to shop technicians to ensure maximum efficiency and minimize company costs, as well as, asset downtime.
- Communicate with customers on what repairs are needed, and the cost of the repairs.
- Ensure all employees adhere to safety standards, company policies, and procedures.
- Lead, train and develop people’s natural talent.
- Provide clean, safe working conditions for the facility and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
- High school education or GED equivalent required.
- Technical, vocational, trade school education or equivalent is preferred.
- 3-5 years of shop management experience.
- Knowledge and experience with heavy equipment, mining equipment, systems, engines, and components are required.
