American Numismatic Association is Hiring a Community Manager Near Colorado, CO
Reports to: Marketing & Communications Director
This is a full-time exempt position. Additional evening and weekend hours may be required for special events; some travel required.
Summary: The American Numismatic Association (ANA) seeks a qualified Community Manager and numismatist to join our team. If you are a tech-savvy professional, experienced in social media management, public relations, blog and forum moderation, and promotional events, we would like you to apply.
Our ideal candidate will excel in both written and verbal communication, have experience using data and analytics to grow social media engagement, and have experience crafting compelling and engaging content. As a "people person" with exceptional customer service skills, you will moderate online discussions within the numismatic community. Ultimately, you will serve as a brand ambassador of the ANA, embodying the Association's voice and values while overseeing online community communications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the ANA's social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Develop and execute social media and communication campaigns in alignment with ANA's marketing strategies.
- Optimize the existing 400 plus ANA YouTube videos as well as all future videos.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Publications teams to develop a content calendar.
- Create and curate engaging messaging, image, and video content across ANA's social media platforms.
- Attend conventions for communications and support (i.e.: live streaming events, posting photos on social media the day of, assisting the media team, serving as media contact, etc.).
- Promptly respond to comments and inquiries from ANA members and the broader numismatic community.
- Monitor and analyze feedback and online reviews related to ANA activities and events. This may include multiple numismatic forums, blogs, and coin collecting groups across all major social media platforms.
- Organize and participate in social media events to foster community engagement and enhance awareness of ANA initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with ANA's Marketing, PR, Communications, and Publications teams to maintain brand consistency.
- Interface with multiple ANA departments to stay abreast of new products, educational resources, advertising opportunities, and membership offerings.
- Cultivate relationships with ANA members, numismatic enthusiasts, and industry experts.
- Stay abreast of digital technology trends to inform ANA's social media strategy and tactics.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field or commensurate work experience.
- Proficient understanding of numismatics.
- Demonstrated experience as a community manager.
- Experience launching community initiatives (e.g.: building an online forum/blog, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series, and writing an email newsletter).
- Proven experience in event promotion through social media platforms.
- Ability to identify and measure relevant community metrics (e.g.: event attendance, membership engagement).
- Have a deep understanding of social media analytics and complete monthly reports on social media analytics.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Hands-on experience in social media management for brands.
- Capacity to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement metrics.
- Knowledge of online marketing and various marketing channels.
- Knowledge of reputation management skills and how to incorporate best practices to protect the ANA brand.
- Exceptional attention to detail and multitasking capabilities.
