Job Description: The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. It does this through services that are consistent with its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The American Red Cross is the foremost volunteer emergency service organization in the United States with more than 590 chapters nationwide. The Red Cross of Washington has a fantastic opportunity available for a Executive Coordinator. This is full time 40 hours/week. NOTE: Due to Covid19, this position will work from home/remote, with some selected in-person office days required. Selected candidate for hire must be near the Washington area. Provides complex administrative support to a department, group or program. Prepare reports and various correspondences. Administers projects, programs, and/or processes applicable to the unit. Analyzes unit operating practices and recommends revisions to improve established procedures. May serve as an administrative liaison with others within and outside the company regarding administrative issues. Responsibilities: 1: Perform a variety of complex administrative duties, with little supervision and exercising confidentiality. Prepare and maintain memos, records, reports, data or correspondence for management or staff review. Reviews correspondence for consistency with corporate policies and practices. May develop high-level presentations and/or spreadsheet reports and run specialized queries from department database. 2: Initiate, prepare, and edit written materials, correspondence, and reports using various software and/or database management applications. 3: Compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations supporting functional area or business unit/project by utilizing specific database or software applications. 4: May administer a particular project involving operational issues and compile results and findings for management review. May participate as a department representative on a cross-functional project team or serve as a project manager for an intra-department project. 5: May provide functional supervision to clerical/administrative staff assigned to unit. 6: Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Scope: Extensive knowledge of the job. Comprehensive acquaintance with both general and specific aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems normally encountered. Contacts are frequent with individuals representing other organizations or individuals of significant importance within organization. Qualifications: Education: High School or equivalent required. Experience: Minimum 7 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Management Experience: N/A Skills & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in personal computer use and Microsoft Office Suite. Proficient typing skills required. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures that relate to operations within assigned organizational unit is preferred. Ability to prepare and edit complex documents is preferred. Ability to work on a team. Travel: None or very little. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic).
