Job Posting

We are seeking an Actuarial Analyst II for our Modeling Department. This is an exam track, Actuarial position, where you will be able to participate in our Actuarial Student Program. In this position, you will perform and communicate complex actuarial analyses such as actuarial exhibits, pricing, loss reserving, financial planning, modeling, other data analyses, and other tasks as assigned. This position supports the core actuarial functions and is responsible for ensuring profitability, growth and the financial strength of the organization. This is an onsite position available at our League City, TX and/or Galveston, TX offices.

What You’ll Do:

  • Applies fundamental actuarial principles in analyzing company and industry data to prepare actuarial analyses in accordance with the “SOA code of Professional Conduct” and the Actuarial Standards of Practice
  • Prepares summaries of actuarial analyses for distribution to home office and field management, other American National departments, consultants, reinsurers, and regulators
  • Completes processes to perform and document actuarial analyses promptly and accurately
  • Begins to assist less experienced analysts with spreadsheets, databases, and sources of data used in actuarial analyses
  • Prepares for and progresses in the SOA examinations through on-the-job and home study

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical background is required
  • 3 or more Actuarial Exams
