American Medical Staffing (AMS) puts you first, and we are currently seeking an RN to join our corrections medical team in Dillwyn, Virginia. This facility is a state prison for men with a daily working population of 1,106 inmates, held at a range of security levels.
Correctional RN Job Details:
Pay Rate: $1,564 to $1,764 per week
Schedule: 7:00PM to 7:30AM
Available Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week
Start Date: Two weeks of offer
Located In: Dillwyn, Virginia
Requirements: Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1-2 years of experience, preferably in a corrections or similar setting, have a valid RN license and be willing to obtain VA and/or compact licensure.
As a Registered Nurse in a correctional care setting, you’ll play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. This position works in partnership with a team of correctional staff and allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. Responsibilities include:
Assessing patient health status, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions as needed
Administering medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols
Monitoring patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary
Collaborating with healthcare team members, correctional staff, and community resources to ensure continuity of care
Documenting patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
