An extravagant skilled nursing facility located in Brooklyn, NY is looking for an Infection Preventionist.

Job Description:

  • Participates in the developing, maintaining, and updating of written policies and procedures that govern day-to-day activities of the Performance Improvement/ Infection Control department
  • Analyze and evaluate Performance Improvement/ Infection Control programs, policies and procedures
  • Develop, implement, review and revise Performance Improvement/ Infection Control activities within the PI/ Infection Control Program
  • Ensure compliance with government and accrediting agency standards and regulations pertaining to Performance Improvement and Infection Control
  • Plan and oversee all Performance Improvement/ Infection Control programs and evaluate program outcomes
  • Revise policies, procedures and programs as needed to improve departmental functions and to ensure the departments are meeting the needs of the resident, their family, the facility, and regulatory agencies
  • Develop, implement and monitor systems for Performance Improvement/ Infection Control documentation and record keeping necessary to maintain accountability and compliance with federal and state regulations and facility policies

Qualifications of the Infection Preventionist:

  • Must have current New York RN license
  • Must have prior experience as an Infection Preventionist
  • Must have Infection Prevention certification
  • Must have experience in long term care
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
