American Facility Services Group, a Building Maintenance management company is hiring a Director of Operations for Janitorial Services.

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Operations to oversee our company's operational strategies and ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record in managing business operations effectively.

Bilingual in Spanish is a definite plus!

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.

- Start-up of projects, Staffing, assisting with payroll, inventory of supplies.

- Lead and manage the operations team to achieve company goals.

- Oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing processes.

- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to drive operational excellence.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational strategies with overall business objectives.

- Drive business development initiatives to expand market presence and increase revenue.

- Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and partners to optimize cost savings.

- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to foster professional growth.

Janitorial operations managers typically handle many personnel duties. They often interview applicants, train new employees and prepare performance reviews. If disciplinary action is needed, it is normally the manager's responsibility to issue reprimands, counsel employees about their performance, determine whether additional training is required or, if necessary, terminate the employee. They may prepare work schedules, as well as track employee attendance and report hours worked to the payroll department. Janitorial operations managers may inspect cleaning equipment and perform routine maintenance. Whenever necessary, managers may also assist workers to ensure that all tasks are completed promptly.

**Qualifications:**

- Proven experience in operations management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.

- Expertise in strategic planning, project management, and process optimization.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively across departments.

- Demonstrated success in managing complex operations and driving organizational growth.

Janitorial operations managers need to know how to use the tools and equipment needed for the job, such as carpet cleaners, floor polishers, steam cleaners, and commercial washers and dryers. They need to know the proper way to clean and dispose of biological waste, and they must ensure that workers use the proper protective gear when cleaning potentially hazardous areas. They must be effective communicators who can explain tasks to staff, have good time-management skills, and be able to prioritize tasks logically. Janitorial operations managers need to be physically able to perform any cleaning chore they might need to handle when assisting or training staff.
