The Technology Risk Analytics team at American Express is seeking a dynamic leader for the role of Director of Cyber Engineering within the Technology Risk and Information Security organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and develop data and automation solutions demonstrating emerging technologies including Gen AI to address the evolving Cyber Threat landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of dedicated engineers in the creation and implementation of innovative data analytics products and services covering Chat Bots, Creative Customer UIs, data and automation pipelines. 
  • Partner with Information Security VP teams to develop end-to-end consumable products and services for Information Security customers, translating raw data into strategic decisions for Cyber Security leadership and business partners.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to design and build systems for descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics on Big Data using Gen AI, statistical modeling and machine learning.
  • Drive innovation and change by identifying new opportunities based on industry standard methodologies and internal/external needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in a quantitative field such as Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 10 years of IT experience with a focus on Information Security, including 5 years in a major area of Information Security (e.g., Identity & Access Management, Cyber Intelligence).
  • Consistent record of using emerging technologies to address product differentiation, build business cases, and drive research/tracking towards measurable outcomes.
  • Experience with Cloud data pipeline and analytics tools from Google and Amazon is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, SQL, Python, and experience with Big Data tools and platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Hive, Spark).
  • Strong operational experience with machine learning algorithms and concepts, including feature engineering, regression analysis, clustering, neural networks, etc.
  • Knowledge of Agile development, Agile operations, and Lean approaches desired.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving innovation and change through collaboration and identifying new opportunities.
  • Experience with Data visualization solutions highly desirable.
  • High Proficiency in one or more enterprise programming languages: Java, Typescript, Go, C , etc.
  • Experience leading the development and delivery of full stack software solutions
  • Experience with leading designers and developers to deliver exceptional user interfaces and user experiences
  • Highly Proficiency with Enterprise Integration Patterns and software, including event driven systems such as Kafka and Kafka Connect

Salary Range: $170,000.00 to $255,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
