As a growing firm, American Engineers Group, LLC (AEG) is a multi-discipline Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm providing services to federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as the industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Project Accountant. The candidate should have a knowledge of basic accounting concepts and be able to learn quickly. Applicant must be thorough, detail-oriented, and able to learn and apply technical concepts while maintaining positive relations with clients and effectively communicating project related information. Outstanding integrity, interpersonal skills, and judgement are essential.

The selected candidate will be working from the Mechanicsburg, PA office location. The salary will depend on the qualifications and experience.

Duties:·

• Create project accounts in the accounting software system and upload all related information.
• Update contracts according to client requirements and report associated budget amendments.
• Provide project managers and clients with timely project reports.
• Prepare pre-billing reports for project managers to review.
• Ensure a steady cash flow by generating, auditing, and sending invoices in a timely manner.
• Mail, email, or upload invoices to client portals.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
• Respond to client requests.
• Prepare and send out Accounts Receivable collections on a regular basis.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Experience project invoicing
• Proficiency in electronic accounting systems
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully manage relationships with clients, company executives, and co-workers
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping, administration, accounting, financial, or analytical fields
• Familiarity with gathering relevant information from contracts
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Local to Mechanicsburg, PA preferred
• Familiarity with PennDOT ECMS is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour
