POSITION SUMMARY
Based in Washington, D.C., the NSLI-Y Program Officer provides support to overseas participants, staff, partners, and natural parents prior to and during NSLI-Y programs. NSLI-Y is a program of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). NSLI-Y provides merit-based scholarships for eligible U.S. high school students to learn less commonly taught languages in summer and academic-year overseas immersion programs. The NSLI-Y Program Coordinator will report to the NSLI-Y Assistant Program Manager for Placement.

This position may require occasional domestic or international travel. This role includes some on-call responsibilities, including monitoring communications outside of business hours for emergencies. This is a hybrid position based in Washington, D.C.
Position contingent upon funding.
WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential functions are performed in a hybrid setting from home or in a general office setting with low noise. Job demands may require long periods of sitting; telephone work and/or computer work, as well as interactions with other team members and external stakeholders and lifting supplies up to 20 pounds.
