Overview:

AACR Foundation:

The AACR Foundation was established in 2000. The Foundations purpose is to raise funds for cancer research, for AACRs programs and services, and for the promotion of the organizations mission. The AACR Foundation has the creativity, innovation, and flexibility to support AACR in making significant advances in the prevention and conquest of cancer. With the help of contributors from among the AACR membership, colleagues, and friends in the national and international cancer community, and corporations and foundations, the AACR Foundation is poised to help the AACR achieve important victories in the fight against cancer.

The AACR Foundation was preceded by a Development Division at AACR formed in 1997. During the past twenty-three years, the Division grew from a fundraising operation that raised $1.5 million in 1998, to a staff of over twenty people raising upwards of $30 million today. Among the AACR Foundations current programs are corporate contributions, industry alliances, foundation grants, individual annual giving campaigns, community endurance events, and web-based engagement.

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Database Operations is responsible for data integrity, process improvement, reporting and analysis, donor research, staff training, and ensuring integrations with other platforms/software is functioning correctly.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the AACR Foundations technical database operations needs
  • Maintain data integrity and quality including data improvements, auditing, practice enforcement, system checks and database functions
  • Maintain primary contact with IT Department and consultants as assigned
  • Assure accuracy and quality of import and export data from various sources including manual entry by ensuring database functionality meets operations needs
  • Identify, mine, and analyze prospects for fundraising and outreach initiatives
  • Provide staff training, support, and feedback for all database users, as appropriate
  • Manage help tickets related to troubleshooting
  • In coordination with Sr. Manager, Development Operations, ensure policy and procedure documentation is current and implemented
  • Explore and implement technological improvements for developing and maintaining queries/reports/exports for direct appeals, email campaigns, publications, events, and ad hoc projects
  • Collaborate with Foundation and Marketing teams to facilitate audience segmentations and variable message copy fields based on various donor criteria
  • Identify opportunities for systems integration, improved data quality, reduce data entry and increase cross-departmental collaboration
  • Update donor wealth screenings and other fundraising-related data
  • Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience with CRM databases required; preferably Salesforce NPSP
  • Working knowledge of fundraising best practices
  • High level of accuracy and attention to details in performance of tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical users
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple priorities at one time
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Passion for AACRs mission to prevent and cure all cancers

Ability To:

  • Efficiently manage a web-based database system
  • Create and run data import and export queries/reports
  • Design and generate accurate reports
  • Prioritize, manage, and follow through on multiple tasks
  • Complete tasks in a timely and accurate
  • Work well under pressure with periodic heavy workloads
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

Education and Training:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 2-5 years of related experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN OUR PHILADELPHIA OFFICE AND HAS A STARTING SALARY RANGE OF $65,000-$95,000
