The American Angus Association is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer in its St. Joseph, MO office, a short drive from the Greater Kansas City Area. This position will work with an experienced and innovative team to develop and maintain new and existing web-based software applications for the American Angus Association and its subsidiaries. The role will interact with clients on scope and project deliverables to create software that will have a positive impact for the Angus breed and its members. Remote work options are offered for this position based on the experience level of the applicant.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop web-based and mobile applications using technologies including, but not limited to C#, SQL, Angular, Sitecore, Maui, .NET Core, Blazor, MVC. 
• Perform system analysis; design and develop applications; author application documentation; perform maintenance and support.
• Ability to serve as a task or project leader and provide guidance and support to less-experienced software engineers.
• Develop new features from conception through completion while ensuring that customers continue to have an exceptional user experience.
• Play a key role in the architect and delivery of software products and services.
• Participate in the design, development, testing and deployment of high quality, secure and highly available software. Working in a cross-functional capacity.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and products.
• Provide support to the Information Systems department by participating in other projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent written communication skills to be able to write concise and understandable project documentation, functional specifications, user manuals and other technical materials.
• Prior technical or team leadership experience is highly desired.
• Must have proven ability to make solid, independent technical decisions for high performance, low resource server software.
• Passion to understand, learn, dissect, and improve new technologies.
• Familiar with all phases of the software development life cycle. 
• Able to work effectively in a team environment. 
• Ability to quickly analyze and solve problems. 
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or other applicable fields, or equivalent work experience. 
• Minimum three years of software development experience including task and project leadership.
