American Academy (AA) has an opening for a full-time Communications Assistant. The Communications Assistant provides support to all three campuses and reports to the Communications Manager. The Communications Assistant is responsible for supporting the Communications Manager with website/document management, events & photography, volunteer management, and communications.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to the mission and philosophy of American Academy with enthusiasm, commitment, and integrity
Uphold and model American Academy’s Core Virtues and American Academy Manners
Communications (30%) – Assist Communications Manager with daily communication priorities, school-wide news, emergency communications, social media, extracurricular activity marketing, and special programs/projects.
Website and Document Management (30%) – Assist Communications Manager with website content, document management – forms and procedures, and account management of Zoom, Jotform, Canva, Sign-Up Genius, Survey Monkey, etc.
Event Photography & Video (20%) – Work with Communications Manager to attend events and document with video and photography.
Volunteer Management (10%) – Assist with maintaining volunteer database, recognizing volunteers, and planning annual volunteer appreciation.
Positive Contribution to the School Environment (10%) - Provide timely and clear communication; Demonstrate initiative in personal achievements and team support; Adhere to the AA Employee Code of Conduct
Requirements:
Experience and/or degree in Marketing and Communication preferred
Minimum job-related experience 1-3 years; Experience in an educational environment helpful
Knowledge of Excel and other computer programs required
Detail oriented; Ability to multi-task and work in an environment of changing priorities
