Current conducting a search for an HR Generalist to join a private university located in Jersey City, NJ founded in the late 1800's. As the HR Generalist, you will be responsible for the successful processing and administration of employment-related activities for all employees of the University supporting the full scope of the employee life cycle (new hire to retirement). The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for creating a positive impression of Human Resources and the University by providing excellent customer service and resolving routine matters presented by customers. The Human Resources Generalist works collaboratively with other members of Human Resources to appropriately serve the University’s employees.

THE SKILLS SET NEEDED

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a directly related business field (or equivalent experience in addition to a bachelor's degree in another discipline) required.
• Minimum two (2) or more years of experience in human resources or a directly related field to demonstrate sufficient knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the essential functions of the position required.
• Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, processes, procedures, and general human resources practices required.
• Sufficient digital literacy to use University systems and platforms, which include MS Office Suite, Google Suite (Mail, Docs, Sheets, Slides), Zoom, Ellucian Colleague, People Admin (ATS), and other systems and digital tools required.
• Experience in higher education preferred.
