AMDA is Hiring a Helpdesk Support Specialist Near Los Angeles, CA

AMDA College of the Performing Arts, with campuses in New York City and Hollywood, is one of the foremost post-secondary performing arts colleges in the country. AMDA offers various pathways for students to receive unparalleled performing arts education taught by world-class industry professionals, including Professional Conservatory Certificates as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees (Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Associate of Occupational Studies, Master of Fine Arts and Master of Arts). 
We are currently seeking an experienced Helpdesk Support Specialist for our Los Angeles campus. The Helpdesk Support Specialist assists staff, faculty, and students with technical support of desktop computers, laptops, IP phones, network applications, Wi-Fi, and related technology. Support includes installation and testing of technology equipment. 
Responsibilities: 
  • Provide deskside and remote support to staff, faculty, and students. 
  • Setup new computer workstations and maintain/repair existing systems. 
  • Maintenance of network component inventory, printers, and other hardware items Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices. 
  • Troubleshoot and own desktop / network / voice issues to resolution via trouble ticket system. 
  • Maintain computer systems, improving speed, reliability, and efficiency of operation. 
  • Diagnose hardware and software issues and replace defective components when required. 
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests, resolutions, and hardware/software inventory. Create and update technical documentation 
  • Work closely with other IT team members to ensure a seamless IT environment. Collaborate with external vendors as needed for IT-related services. 
  • Ensure a high level of confidentiality with company data. 
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: 
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills (both written and verbal). 
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred. 
  • Minimum 1-2 years of IT Support experience is required. 
  • Intermediate or advanced skills in Windows systems administration. 
  • Experience managing both Windows and Mac workstations. 
  • Experience with Mobile device management such as Kandji or Intune. 
  • Knowledge of system applications, such as AD, RDP, Azure, Intune 
  • Knowledge and understanding of concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, 802.11x, RADIUS and DHCP. 
  • Knowledge of VoIP, WebEx Calling. 
  • Knowledge of Citrix DaaS Virtual Apps is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace, Exchange Oline, Microsoft Entra ID is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of PaperCut or other print management software a plus. 
  • Knowledge of Extreme Cloud IQ WI-FI a plus. 
Position Information: 
  • This position is subject to a background check upon a conditional offer of employment and a reference check. 
  • The pay range for this position is $67,000 - $70,000 annually. 
  • This is a fully in person position.
