Job Description
This role will be responsible for the execution of the AFNA corporate trade compliance program by guiding and supporting the various Business Units in ensuring that operations are in compliance with trade compliance policies, laws, regulations and directives.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Execute annual qualification and maintenance of various free trade agreements.
  • Execute and manage HTS classification, ECCN and global licensing programs globally for items produced and purchased.
  • Broker Management.
  • Perform US and Canadian Post Entry Filing with Customs Authorities.
  • Review Broker performance Status/Tracking report for compliance issues.
  • Oversee preparation and monitor the status of drawback entry claims.
  • Write and maintain legal/compliance policies and directives.
  • Independently, with minimal management supervision:
  • Provide guidance on compliance policies and directives in collaboration with Business Unit compliance liaisons; lead development of standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Provide training and guidance on trade risk assessment to the Business Unit Compliance liaisons. Perform training and provide training materials to the Business Unit Compliance liaisons and tactical personnel.
  • Perform audits on import and export document and procedures with the business units. These audits will be utilized to determine each business unit's compliance with published policies and directives.
  • Perform internal audits of centralized finance practices, chart of accounts and import valuation audits.
  • Independently prepare and present business unit and division trade risk analyses.
  • Assist management with preparing and presenting Legal/Compliance Corporate Governance general awareness for executives, middle management and sales, globally.
  • Prepare and present function specific training for areas that impact import and export activities, globally.
  • Effectively lead, mentor and coach Trade Compliance Administrators and Business Unit compliance liaisons
  • Influence and educate corporate business partners through effective communication, collaboration and assistance for import and export operations
  • Based on audit findings, conduct root cause analysis and manage resolution of identified compliance issues.
  • Complete assignments efficiently, accurately and in a timely manner to ensure internal and external contact needs are met
  • Develop recommendations for enhancements to current processes and procedures
  • Work to ensure highest level of ethics is maintained
  • Maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU
  • Bachelors Degree -preferred
  • 5 Years corporate trade compliance functional experience -preferred
  • ACE- US Customs Automated Commercial Environment experience
  • Current US Customs Brokers License - Preferred
  • Exposure to Canadian Import & Export
  • SAP experience-Preferred
