Ambry Genetics is Hiring a Remote Clinical Analyst I

Compensation: $72,000 - $80,000 per year. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 5% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.

Clinical Analyst (REMOTE:USA)

Job Overview:

The Clinical Analyst will analyze and review molecular test results and clinical data. They will provide support for the Clinical Scientist, Variant Assessment Scientists and/or Genetic Counselor teams by preparing thorough and accurate analysis and interpretation to support variant classification, gene curation, and/or other reporting-related needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze, review and draft accurate and clear summaries of variants identified through molecular testing
  • Review, and summarize variant and gene-related scientific literature
  • Collaborate with Scientists, Genetic Counselors, and Lab Directors in clinical diagnostic processes.
  • Balance case volume and throughput to meet published turn around times
  • Read, understand, and work according to established standard operating procedures
  • Understand procedures to identify complex results and elevate to appropriate laboratory personnel.
  • Provide input and assist in the maintenance and improvements of analysis workflows.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Ambry’s scientific and operational workflows, including quality management system, sample processing, bioinformatics, variant assessment, clinical validity assessment, clinical laboratory, and clinical affairs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree, at minimum, with expertise in molecular genetics, human genetics, molecular biology or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Experience with multi-tasking responsibilities while maintaining high level of attention to detail.
  • General computer & Microsoft Office suite proficiency.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Flexibility regarding job assignment and changes to workflow.
  • Additional skills: organized, time management & prioritization, problem-solving & trouble shooting.
  • Minimum 1-year laboratory experience required.
