Ambriant at Avondale is Hiring a Dining Room Manager Near Fort Mill, SC

The Dining Service Director is responsible for training, scheduling, directing and managing the dining department to make sure that our residents have a pleasant dining experience.

Education/Experience:

  • Dining Room Service Experience - 1 year (Required)
  • Hospitality & Customer Service – 1 year (Required)
  • Management – 1 year (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification – (Preferred)
    • Or must be willing to receive certification upon hire. Company will provide.

Minimum eligibility requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Must possess strong leadership and managerial skills in order to lead our dining room staff.
  • Must understand and follow therapeutic diet orders for residents when serving food.
  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
  • Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
  • Must meet all health requirements.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (essential job functions), with or without reasonable accommodation.

Essential functions:

  • Train new hires in accordance with our Dining Room processes and policies.
  • Work closely with the Kitchen Manager and Director of Food & Beverage to coordinate events, services, etc.
  • Manage inventory of supplies, bar items, etc.
  • Set up and break down all dining areas in the appropriate time manner. All set up done 30 minutes before opening time.
  • All Silverware, glasses and plates are to be clean, chip free, maintained and free of spots.
  • Be in uniform at all times during your shift.
  • Must be well educated on all menus including wine lists. Check with Chefs for specials.
  • Have a working knowledge of all allergies, food ingredients and preparation methods for menu items.
  • Maintain a working presence on the dining room floor at all times. Tend to all customers needs in a timely and professional manner. Be proactive at problem solving.
  • Adhere to schedule, if changes need to be made inform a manger at least a week in advance, actively seek a replacement for a shift that you will not be able to cover.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary work station at all times in BOH.
  • Scrape all plates and place them in an organized fashion in the dish pit.(Correct glasses in glass racks, plates of similar shape stacked together.)
  • Maintain all checklists and standards while on your shift.
  • Complete any other tasks assigned to you by the Director of Food & Beverage Services.

Customer service

  • Responsible for ensuring that all employees are providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Perform job duties for residents and with team members in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Take initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction is a priority.
  • Meet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner (Visitors include anyone who visits the community; specifically, current residents’ families and friends, prospective residents and their families, referral sources, vendors and regulators).

Resident's Rights:

  • Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights.

Other:

  • Adheres to prescribed sanitation practices and procedures.
  • Performs similar or related duties as required or directed.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • The job description provides a framework for the job; other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Working conditions (travel, hours, environment):

  • Scheduled hours; possible overtime. May work in other positions temporarily when necessary.
  • Is subject to callback during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
  • Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., through the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, and other air contaminants.
  • May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Physical/ Sensory Requirement:

  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents and staff.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the community.
  • Medium work: ability to exert 10-35 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
