The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of Patient Access/Registration and Emergency Department Registration. This includes outpatient & emergency department registration, notifying patients of their healthcare benefits, and point of service collections, while maintaining the highest level of patient, employee, physician and customer satisfaction and compliance with ethical standards. Provides feedback & reports related to clinic/outpatient registration to clinic director/manager. Responsible for ensuring the department is fully staffed and staff is appropriately trained, filling in where needed. Assists with decision-making regarding hiring, evaluating and termination of staff. Responsible for oversight of the registration process, including establishing standard work and providing education and training organization wide. Has direct oversight of Denials Management, working all account checks and claim denials related to registration, forwarding other denials to appropriate personnel, monitors to assure consistent and timely follow up.
Maintains the highest standards of customer service excellence to ensure that staff performs all duties according to established customer service standards and that processes are developed to address overall or specific customer needs, modeling AIDET guidelines to drive positive patient interactions.

1-3 years
Other: Previous medical experience with patient access and/or business office functions required. Excellent customer Service experience required. Previous Manager experience preferred.
