Automotive Plant Manager ConsultantPosition Type: IndependentConsultant (1099 or LLC)
Locations: Continental United States
Travel Required: 85-100%

Our consultants are industry experts, providing tacticaloperational wins to OEMs and T1 Suppliers via extensive industry knowledge, criticalthinking and problem-solving abilities, and a passion for making hands-onchanges to warehouse and production floors rapidly.

  • Monitors the launch preparationfor new projects (according to current RAMP guideline) and prepares plant forlaunch of new products/processes.
  • Ensures all standards andinstructions are followed.
  • Has a major contribution to theresult of internal and external audits in the plant.
  • Is the 1st level of escalationand key contact for Central Functions.
  • Ensures implementation andcompliance with RA standards and local legal requirements.
  • Contributes to improvement ofstandards in alignment with Central Functions
  • Is aware of CM/profitability byproduct and foster respective improvement measures and profitabilityenhancement.
  • Monitors 2nd and 3rd shiftproduction, results, deliverables, emergencies, and is maintains a hands-onapproach with corrective action and visits.
  • Ensures Plant safety at alllevels of production/supervision.
  • Achieves defined KPIs andimplements strategic plans to correct unmet KPIs.
  • Analyzes manufacturing costs(incl. all functional costs, investments/amortization, Personnel costs, generalsite costs)
  • Maintains effectivecommunication with employees at all levels of operation.
  • Maintains and improvescompany’s culture.
  • Leadership of local plant/Development of employees
  • Developing, maintaining, andreviewing of concepts with suppliers, customers, and other departments
  • Alignment with cross-functionalproject team.
  • Performing quantitative andqualitative evaluations, considering impact to logistics costs and structure
  • Initiating and implementingprocess improvements through innovative creative ideas.
  • Develops, maintains, andreviews concepts with suppliers and customers.
  • Monitors implementation ofcorrective action plans
  • Works with Quality Departmentto analyze any quality concerns throughout the Production process, andimplement necessary changes in order to improve production efficiency, qualityand processing.
  • Coordinates the efforts ofcross-functional groups and across shifts to resolve bottlenecks, partsshortages, machine maintenance, manpower issues and production capacity.
  • Ensures timely shipments to allcustomers and prepares and implements work orders and plans as required.

Requirements

  • 10 years of Management in Automotive,Aerospace, Manufacturing, or other related industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in BusinessManagement, Engineering, Operations, or other related fields preferred.
  • Strong analytical andconceptual skills and ability to communicate effectively with client customersat all organizational levels.
  • Strong oral and writtencommunication and documentation skills, including presentation skills (MSExcel, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong problem solving andtroubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Experience leading small teamsor delivering projects or programs.
  • Experience prioritizing tasksand managing assignments in a collaborative team environment.
  • ERP and SAP experience required.
  • Previous Consulting ExperiencePreferred
  • Possesses strongleadership, automotive, operations, relationship management, manufacturingstrategy, and budget skills.
  • Possesses strong MSOffice, MTM, IATF, SAP knowledge.
  • Must be able to read,write, and speak English clearly and effectively.
