Ambar Estate is Hiring a Culinary Lead / Chef Near Newberg, OR

Position Overview:

Ambar Estate, the first Regenerative Organic Farm Certified Estate in the renowned Dundee Hills, is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Full-Time Culinary lead/Chef. The ideal candidate will understand wine and food pairings, have a desire to showcase the wines with food playing a complementary role and excel in the ability to create quality driven , delicious and aesthetically pleasing dishes. In addition this role will play a crucial part in the financial success of the business so an understanding of food costs and inventory management and efficiencies will be critical skills needed to be successful in the position. The Culinary Lead/Chef reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities:

· Design and implement menus for wine focused experiences with seasonal updates in collaboration with the General Manager.

· Execute daily service including opening and closing duties.

· Daily maintenance and periodic deep cleaning of kitchen and equipment based on schedules as determined in collaboration with General Manager.

· Event menu design and execution for Ambar Estate and potentially Vinovate events.

· Potential support of occasional lunch menus for winemaking/vineyard teams during harvest.

· Product maintenance including ordering and inventory.

· Culinary training for both Front and Back of house employees.

· Sourcing seasonal and local ingredients to be in line with Ambar’s philosophy on farming whenever possible.

· Monthly inventory reporting in a timely and consistent manner.

· Weekly ordering and prepping for service.

Qualifications:

· Culinary experience within the hospitality industry, preferably in the wine and/or luxury sector.

· Knowledge of culinary operations including inventories, volume food preparations & sanitation.

· Basic computer proficiency.

· Ability and/or experience with controlling labor and food costs

· Must be at least 21 years of age.

· Available to work weekends and holidays as needed.

· Ability to lift 40 lbs.
