Amazon is Hiring a Sr. Program Manager - Pharmacy Automation, Pharmacy Engineering Near Phoenix, AZ

DESCRIPTION

At Amazon Pharmacy our customers come first. We are looking for a Sr. Program manager - Pharmacy Automation to own supplier management of pharmacy automation systems. This will entail securing the supplier technology, solutions, and capacity required to deliver on the automated Pharmacy Fulfillment Center technology road-map, including automated MHE and robotic automation solutions.
This person will establish and maintain liaison between internal and supplier teams to formulate and apply solutions that will identify, explore, evaluate, justify and realize solutions that reduce project/build schedule durations and improve quality, output, throughput rates, capacity, uptime and system utilization. This individual will have strong experience negotiating large contractual agreements with several complex groups interfacing extensively with internal/external legal teams and supplier representatives.
Key job responsibilities
- Engage with internal partners (Design, Engineering, Operations, Customer Experience, Software, IT) to drive performance within existing platforms with suppliers around the areas of Safety, Quality and Customer Experience.
- Own and negotiate supplier sourcing, contracting and performance for automation solutions.
- Track supplier progress weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting out to Amazon and supplier management on results and support needed for successful scaling.
- Provide coaching, technical, and project management support to project teams, facilitating removal of barriers.
- Drive suppliers’ continuous improvement and development program in support of quality, delivery and cost performance metrics.
- Integrate ideas from partners and internal stakeholders to develop value add solutions through application of unique design and new technology solutions.
- Challenge suppliers and internal teams to find and evaluate disruptive change in addition to evolutionary change of automation equipment.
- Drive strategic and tactical supplier performance including scorecards and hosting business reviews with Sr. Leadership of the suppliers and internal team members.
- Innovate and improve existing processes to streamline and eliminate waste while enabling growth and scale.
- Partnering with Directors, VPs, and other key operational experts across the company to lead, support, and influence new business initiatives.
The successful candidate will be an experienced natural self-starter possessing:
- High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Strong project management skills and experience with the ability to influence cross functional and supplier teams to perform against scope, schedule, and budget milestones.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
- Strong process orientation with experience in process development and improvement
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence, negotiate, and develop relationships at all levels of the organization and supplier organizations.
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up recommendations and develop business cases
- Proven comprehension of electromechanical designs and integrated machine controls, ideally with MHE system or Pharmacy Automation design experience
- Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding our business, projects, solution designs, technology innovations, and opportunities to improve the effectiveness of our capital equipment procurement processes
- Willingness to roll up their sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5 years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2 years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
