To get there, we are seeking an experienced Principal HR Generalist (HRBP) to support the growing International Seller Services (ISS) organization. International Seller Services enables over 3MM third-party sellers worldwide to list their products for sale to Amazon customers. Sellers offer hundreds of millions of unique products and are a critical part of Amazon's vision to offer the Earth's largest selection and lowest prices.
This HR leader will need to bring broad experience across the talent management lifecycle, having succeeded in strategic HR or related business roles. They will partner with Amazon VPs and Directors who lead our global Sales and Tech teams to onboard and integrate new and diverse senior-level talent, develop organizational designs that best serve our customers and enable our teams work cohesively towards common business goals. We are looking for an HRBP who is inherently curious, who can dive deep into people metrics and data in order to offer recommendations to improve the organizational health, who can demonstrate excellent judgment and backbone especially in ambiguous situations, and who is comfortable taking calculated risks and implementing innovative solutions.
This person must have the ability to think strategically coupled with the willingness to roll up their sleeves and act tactically when necessary. We seek someone who wants to make every day better for our employees, who has a bias for action, ownership and the capacity to conduct and leverage comprehensive root-cause analysis when building business cases or influencing decisions.
The day-to-day activities in this role may include meeting 1:1 with business partners across ISS to discuss topics such as strategies for diverse talent attraction, plans to develop diverse talent, to review succession plans and build steps to future-proof the business, to deep dive into organizational design and make recommendations, or to provide executive coaching. You may also spend time program managing activities in the talent management lifecycle, like preparing for talent reviews, reviewing compensation or providing feedback on promotion documents. You may attend business staff meetings to learn about the business, and to share out critical people metrics and along with recommendations to achieve people-related goals. You may have team meetings with global HR partners or with various team members across DEI, Talent Management and other Centers of Excellence. You may travel on some days, or attend offsites. And, you will almost always be challenged, learn something new and have fun!
Key job responsibilities
- Work with leadership to ensure the organizational health and own rhythm-of-the-business activities such as talent reviews and promotions.
- Develop mechanisms to regularly inspect goals and org health trends.
- Demonstrate analytical capabilities and be able to influence with data-driven recommendations.
- Proactively plan and design, as well as identify and diagnose, issues in order to drive solutions.
- Implement and execute HR-related policies, programs and guidelines, organizational design, company culture and employee development.
- Drive the short- and long- term HR and DEI priorities and goals, including operating model design, workforce planning and talent management.
- Partner with and coach Directors and VPs to develop and execute plans for building leadership and management capability that align to the business priorities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.
- 7 years work experience in an HR Generalist/Business Partner role including performance management, change management, and employee communications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Demonstrated success with building relationships, earning trust and influencing with leaders and employees at all levels.
- Highly organized, being able to prioritize and to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, comfortable with high volume workload and willing to "roll up your sleeves."
- Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills; a role model for the use of the concepts and skills we teach and exceptional commitment to our Leadership Principles.
- Able to work both on a team and independently to deliver results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills. Experience using and presenting data to make decisions, and ability to leverage technology and data to analyze, invent, and scale.
- Experience working in Global team environment with multiple time zones.
- Experience dealing with ambiguity and moving quickly to solutions/recommendations.
- Experience working with: Microsoft Office, WorkDocs, data analysis systems (e.g., Clarity).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
