ABOUT THIS ROLE
In this role, you will make the best of your skillset to build scalable solutions and models to help optimize and improve sales motions for Amazon Ads account teams. Leveraging a range of methods including machine learning and simulation, you will explain, quantify, predict and prescribe in support of informing critical business decisions. You will translate business goals into agile, insightful analytics. You will seek to create value for both stakeholders and customers and inform findings in a clear, actionable way to managers and senior leaders.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Sales AI team for Amazon Ads partners with sales, product, finance, and other technology partners to solve Sales and technology problems using scientific approaches. We employ scalable cutting-edge machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) knowledge to better target customers and prospects, understand and personalize the content, and context needed to optimize selling motions. We operate in an agile environment in which we own and collaborate on the life cycle of research, design, and model development of relevant projects.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will...
- Develop and validate models to optimize the Who, When, Where and How of all our interactions with customers
- Develop Amazon-scale data engineering pipelines
- Imagine and invent before the business asks, and create groundbreaking applications using cutting-edge approaches
- Develop compelling data visualizations
- Work closely with other data scientists, ML experts, engineers and on cross-disciplinary efforts with other scientists within Amazon
- Contribute to the growth of the Sales AI team by sharing your ideas, intellectual property and learning from others
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Denver, CO, USA
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 4 years of data scientist experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression
- Experience in data applications using large scale distributed systems (e.g., EMR, Spark, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, Pig, and Hive)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience managing data pipelines
- Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team
- Knowledge of AWS tech stack (e.g., AWS Redshift, S3, EC2, Glue)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
