The Worldwide Events team is the biggest party planning committee on the planet, driving a global vision and execution of High Velocity Events (HVEs) for our customers – think Prime Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday! We work across our US and global partners to deliver exciting offers & deals, a personalized shopping experience, and all-around excitement during the biggest shopping days of the year.
As Program Manager, Global Merchandising for this team, you’ll be responsible for building the onsite merchandising governance for global teams. This role builds the blueprint for global marketplaces to be able to execute HVEs to the plan of record, which includes onsite merchandising guidance, timelines, best practices, and communication with internal stakeholders. To be successful in this role, you will have a mix of program and marketing management skills. You’ll need to have a global mindset as we have 20 marketplaces that participate in HVEs annually. You have the ability to see the big picture while also thinking critically about the execution of merchandising, with an understanding of how developments in engineering, merchandising tools, and locale differences impact event execution and timelines. You need to be an excellent communicator both in person and in written communications. You are able to work autonomously, build relationships outside of your immediate team, and have demonstrable experience in stakeholder management. You will be equally comfortable working with merchandisers, product managers, engineers, and teams across retail and programs.
Key job responsibilities
Program Manager, Global Merchandising role responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Build Global Merchandising Governance for participating marketplaces to successfully execute global HVEs to plan of record
  • Collaborate with tech and product teams to drive efficiencies and scale, including influencing the development of new automation programs
  • Develop and sustain strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders. Synthesize inputs from teams to understand when developments will require changes to HVE planning or execution
  • Lead recurring meetings with global stakeholders to drive merchandising execution to be completed within established timeline
  • Create and drive the adoption and execution of the Global Merchandising workback schedule
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on merchandising systems such as Content Symphony, Babel

Seattle, WA, USA
  • 3 years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3 years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
