Amae Health is seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dietician who wants to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with SMI to help launch and lead our first North Carolina clinic in Raleigh (27609).

Position Summary

As a Registered Dietician at Amae Health, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the physical and mental well-being of our patients living with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) by providing expert diet and nutritional guidance tailored to their unique needs. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary team to integrate nutrition and diet strategies into comprehensive treatment plans while helping to foster a clinical environment that promotes patient success in achieving superior therapeutic outcomes. This role involves conducting assessments, developing dietary recommendations, and offering ongoing support and coaching to help patients adopt beneficial and sustainable dietary practices that support their physical and mental health goals. It also involves working closely with your colleagues to maintain high levels of customer service for patients and their families and stepping in as needed to provide support in maintaining effective care delivery and clinic operations. The role will also include clinical research activities as part of Amae Health’s dedication to implementing innovative dietary interventions for the treatment of mental health disorders (e.g. keto diet). Through your expertise and compassionate approach, you will contribute to improving the overall health and quality of life of our patients.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct nutritional assessments and develop individualized dietary plans that support overall plan of care for patients with severe mental illness
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to integrate diet and nutrition into comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Provide tailored education and change support to patients and their families regarding diet and nutrition considerations aligned to their journey of mental health and well-being.
  • Monitor patients' progress within their broader mental and physical health goals and make adjustments to dietary recommendations as needed.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and mental health.
  • Complete training and certifications related to involvement in research activities.
  • Document patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Complete timely note-taking to ensure thorough documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans.
  • Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment goals.
  • Work collaboratively with community resources and external providers to coordinate care and support continuity of treatment.
  • Support high levels of patient services and effective clinic operations by assisting with scheduling, intake processes, and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

  • Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
  • Possess a current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential
  • Have experience working in a clinical setting, preferably with individuals with mental health conditions
  • Possess a strong understanding of nutrition principles and their application to mental health
  • Are an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Have a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Are passionate about promoting holistic health and wellness

Preferred

  • Experience working with individuals with severe mental illness
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in nutrition and mental health, including Keto
