Amae Health is an integrated, outpatient care provider for patients with SMI, treating their psychiatric and physical conditions through in-person care delivery with wrap-around services. Amae Health is seeking a Member Support Specialist to partner with us in providing care for complex adult patients. Please note this position is on site at our North Carolina clinic in Raleigh (27609).

About the Job

Position Summary

The Member Support Specialist plays a critical role in establishing and sustaining life-changing relationships between Amae and our patients and their families by embodying Amae’s commitment to service excellence as you help support them through their care journey. In this role, you will partner with our patient acqusition team to introduce Amae to prospective patients and help schedule and process the new patients intakes in a way that reinforces the distinctive quality of care and service that they can expect from Amae. You will foster a sense of belonging and confidence that patients are in good hands by maintaining a welcoming and encouraging disposition as you check patients in and out of the clinic, help set up and manage appointments, work with them to address payment and insurance needs, and facilitate communications. You will also help ensure a warm and supporting environment by helping to maintain clinic inventory, amenities and appearance and by facilitating services that support our patient needs while they are in the clinic.

Essential duties include:

  • Supporting efficient office management with a high level of customer service focused on patient experience and ensuring quality service and hospitality within our clinic
  • New patient visit coordination and initial intake processing
  • Patient appointment scheduling & no show follow-up
  • Billing and collecting of co-pays/payments
  • Management of medical records requests & uploads
  • Processing discharges
  • Answering phone calls and responding to voice mails and other correspondence in a timely and professional manner
  • Supporting member and staff communications
  • Enabling high quality care delivery
  • Administration of Behavioral Health assessments at intake and as required during treatment
  • Patient check in and check out
  • Lab appointments scheduling/coordination
  • Medication pickup facilitation
  • Facility Administration:
  • Maintenance of clinic inventory and appearance
  • Maintenance requests submission and Follow up
  • Safety Officer

Qualifications

  • Completion of an Associates or Bachelors Degree
  • 3 year experience working with a high level of patient/guest interaction in a front desk role at medical office or as a front of house host/concierge in the hospitality industry or in a similar capacity requiring
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and interact successfully with complex, culturally diverse populations in high sensitivity situations and build trusting relationships
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and ability to address and resolve problems
  • Highly proficient with office productivity software and able to quickly master use of medical office technologies including Electronic Medical Records and billing software
  • Strong communication skills and ability to learn medical terminology to facilitate helpful interactions with patients, their families and other care partners
  • Highly dependable, organized and passionate about supporting individuals living with Serious Mental Illness

In addition to meeting the minimum qualification listed above, additional qualifications useful for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Experience and/or training in Behavioral Health
  • Experience working in a direct service or administrative capacity
