Position Summary

Reporting to the Superintendent and/or Foreman, this position is responsible for working in-tandem and at the direction of the on-site construction team. We are seeking dependable, hard-working candidates to perform tasks involving carpentry and physical labor on a construction site using equipment and instruments required of the job assigned. The position is a working position and is responsible for completion of various tasks, jobs, and activities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performs various physical duties as assigned.
• Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials.
• Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training.
• Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment.
• Uses tools, equipment, or other material as directed in plans or by supervisor.
• Erects scaffolding and/or ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
• Builds, installs, relocates and removes perimeter safety guardrails and other safety controls, including but not limited to controlled access zones, ramps, temp railings, etc.
• Safely uses PPE and fall protection equipment as required, per Safety Plan and OSHA guidelines.
• Studies specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Shapes or cuts materials using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Follows established safety rules and regulations and ensures required PPE is used correctly.
• Builds or repairs lock-ups, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, hand tools, or power tools.
• Assembles and fastens materials to make hole covers, barricades, etc, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Cleans up worksite debris and maintains a clean work area.
• Perform normal and customary duties associated with operations
• Coordinates daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel
• Involved in pre-job meetings as requested
• Inspect and ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order for daily tasks
• Accurately complete documentation and daily reports and submit promptly
• Attend weekly safety meetings and daily work plan meetings.
• Communicate any problems/concerns to Foreman
• Communicate and cooperate with the job inspectors subcontractors, suppliers, support services groups and Safety team on job details and requirements

Requirements / Working Conditions:

• Education: High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.)
• Experience: Minimum 2 Years of verifiable carpentry experience

• Schedule: Typical Mon – Fri, 7am to 3:30pm, with overtime, nights and weekends as required.
• Must have a reliable means of transportation/parking.

• Must be able to work in all weather conditions (sun, rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, sleet), around chemicals, dust, noise, heights and in a down-town, high-traffic area.
• Must be able to see, speak, hear, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach and climb stairs & ladders.
• Must be able to lift, move and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds, independently
• Must be dependable and able to work independently and within a team environment
