The Director of Arts In Education & Community Programs reports to the executive director of Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation (AADF), and is responsible for leading the development and management of all aspects of the partnerships and alliances with PreK-grade 12 schools and community organizations that participate in AIE initiatives, including AileyDance Kids, AileyCamp, AileyDance for Active Aging, national and international outreach, and community programs. The ideal candidate for this position is a strong leader and strategic thinker who is knowledgeable about trends in the field of arts in education, values the legacy of Alvin Ailey, and can serve as an effective collaborator across AADF’s departments and programs. Department Summary: Ailey Arts In Education & Community Programs builds on Alvin Ailey’s guiding principle: that dance came from the people and should be returned to the people. AIE works with partner organizations to meet specific community needs, cultivates and celebrates diversity in communities and amongst our teaching artists and musicians, and seeks out sectors where dance can make a real difference in people’s lives.
