Typical Pay Range – 75,000 to 90,000 yearly

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with a Top Secret/SCI security clearance at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO. Directly responsible for ensuring the operational security of Information Technology (IT) assets within SCIF areas.

  • Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of IAW DOD security policies and practices
  • Initiate protective or corrective measures when a security incident or vulnerability is discovered. Report to the ISSM.
  • Ensure all AIS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.
  • Ensure that proper decisions are made concerning levels of concern for confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data, and the protection level for confidentiality for the system.
  • Perform and analyze 204 Net Audits, MSDT&E Audits, and Radiant Mercury Audits.
  • Perform data archiving for 204 net, MSDT&E, and Radiant Mercury.
  • Review and coordinate Communications/Computer Systems Requirements Documents
  • Conduct Cross domain data transfers; Perform all HIGH TO LOW transfers for SCIF personnel
  • Generate and coordinate form 6521 for equipment entry and 6522 for equipment exit into the SCIF
  • Manage and control all data storage media within the SCIF
  • Perform antivirus patching on standalone systems and Perform virus scans on incoming media
  • Perform and control destruction of unclassified and classified hard drives, CD/DVD, and magnetic tape SCIFs.
  • Operate the degausser, crusher, and large shredder
  • Train people to operate the degausser, crusher, and large shredder
  • Provide classified mailing assistance to SCIF personnel
  • Perform quarterly baseline diagrams for each of the six SCIFS to the ISSM
  • Provide a monthly SSO spreadsheet for SCIF systems
  • Review & provide SCIF IA comments to the USAFWC SCIF SOP at least annually
  • Conduct annual and individual (as needed) Authorized Transfer Agent training
  • Conduct semi-annual self-assessment inspections of each of the six SCIFS
  • Originate and coordinate Request to Use (RTU) letters for government and contractor laptops that require entrance to SCIFs for official business
  • Coordinate with the SSR on all Personal Electronic Devices that require access to the SCIFs for official business
  • Coordinate with the SSR to ensure the physical & environmental protection of all SCIF systems
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Security , CISSP or equivalent experience
  • Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Current DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, computer science, related field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of DoD and USAF Information Security directives, policies, procedures
  • 5 years of experience in Information Technology to include network auditing/archiving, media control, SCIF IT control procedures and directives

Ideal applicant will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a multi-faceted IA program for large government contracts involving networks and stand-alone systems at multiple classification levels in government SCIFs
  • Thorough understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and system evaluation using Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP)/Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tools
  • Excellent client management skills and ability to work independently or within a mixed team of government and contractor personnel
  • Strong technical and analytical, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills
  • Teamwork and customer-service focus

The pay range information provided is a general guideline. The pay rate offered will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, as well as geographic locations, market and other business considerations as permitted by law.
