POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

The Grounds Supervisor will take care of the facility property at Rivanna Station by supervising the grounds maintenance contractors and performing daily checks of the facility grounds.

• Oversee the general cleanliness and appearance of Grounds
• Collaborate with contractors and venders
• Follow building plans and blueprints for EPA and Gov’t entities
• Respond to, diagnose, and resolve emergencies
• Perform routine inspections of pond and forebays on property
• Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.
• Perform pest control duties
• Supervise snow removal activities

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools along with tractors and mowers.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings.
• Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversion of measurements
• Must be US Citizen
• Must have or be able to acquire and maintain TS/SCI Clearance
• Must have or be able to acquire and maintain a Pesticide Applicators License
