This role definition is meant to combine the functional, process and technical responsibilities. The role can be seen as a CTO role on the Squad perimeter. This is required to have true end to end accountability for the entire solution from estimates and planning through detailed design, development, deployment and run support (inc. documentation). Key Responsibilities: Lead the engineering teams through the development project by establishing a technical vision and resolving technical disagreements . End to end accountability for the solution through detailed design, build, deployment and run support, including documentation. Participate in requirements sessions to understand the problem statement and key functional, non-functional and technical requirements Work with the Architecture team to understand the solution architecture strategy and build towards that vision Ensure engineering teams are using appropriate engineering practices and are remaining compliant with organizational set standards and tooling. Maintain accountability and manage the associated technical quality for all engineering deliverables. Work with the Technical Architect, Design Team (Technical Product Manager, Business Analyst, UX Designer), Lead Engineers (FE, BE, Data), DevOps Lead, QA Lead, Data Science Lead, LiveOps Lead, Security Lead: to ensure technical cohesion and quality across all engineering activities including: front-end application development, back-end software/platform development, data engineering, DevOps engineering, data science, QA engineering, security. Meet with other chapter leads (live ops, dev ops, data, security) to ensure technical direction is supported within the broader company ecosystem Develop the release plan organizing the sprints and ensuring in scope user stories are properly groomed/detailed, understood by all stakeholders and ready for development Partner with the technical/solution architect to ensure technical requirements have been embedded into user stories and understood by the Engineering team members. Provide KPI to stakeholders highlighting risks/issues that may jeopardize original project timelines. Ensure deliverables meet the Definition of Done and are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint Key Qualifications: 8 years of software development experience in any of the following: React.js, Python, Node.Js, Java, .Net Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud, automation, data lakes, data pipelines, IaC, CICD, Terraform, Jenkins. Experience leading engineering teams Experience designing and building greenfield solutions with lots of ambiguity.
