HOERBIGER Engine Technologies/Altronic LLC is seeking a Panel Quality Control Test Technician to join our team at our Girard, Ohio location. This role is responsible for supporting the Quality Team in testing and inspecting all control panel products prior to shipping from our facility. This role will work closely with the Quality Control Engineer and interface occasionally with Operations, Sales and Engineering teams to deal with troubleshooting, design, and any other necessary tasks related to delivering a quality product to our customers. This is a full-time hourly position, day shift, Monday-Friday schedule. Overtime is required as necessary per the production requirements, for all the employees.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Panel Quality Control Test Technician to join our team at our Girard, Ohio location.
This pivotal role involves ensuring the quality of all control panel products before shipment.
Collaborating closely with the Panel Engineering and Production Teams, as well as occasionally
interacting with Sales and Logistics, this position is integral to ensuring the delivery of superior products
to our valued customers. This is a full-time hourly position, operating on a day shift, Monday through
Friday, with occasional overtime requirements to meet production demands.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial continuity checks on all wiring to prevent potential shorts or misconnections of
    electrical components.
  • Aid in the design, development, and implementation of new test equipment and procedures for both
    existing and forthcoming products.
  • Conduct final product audits in adherence to established procedures to verify product quality prior to
    customer shipment.
  • Execute surveillance inspections during production, including pre- and final testing.
  • Facilitate temporary load hook-up for comprehensive testing.
  • Conduct systematic first-time power-ups of all control panels.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with Quality Engineers, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and -
    Sales to resolve manufacturing and warranty issues professionally when required.
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations for customers as necessary.
  • Report any technical or equipment failures promptly to the Panel Engineer.
  • Write standard testing procedures via Word Processing software based on electrical schematics

Requirements/Challenges:

  • 2-year Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology / electronics or mechanical or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in working productively, safely, and independently without supervision.
  • Ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels within the company, including production, engineering, and management personnel.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting assembly drawings, electrical drawings, mechanical/lay-out drawings, relay logic drawings, and more.
  • Excellent time management, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software.
  • Positive attitude and aptitude for teamwork.
  • Willingness to work overtime as per company requirements.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Familiarity with various basic electrical testing equipment
  • Ability to adapt to various software tools to facilitate testing.
  • Proficiency with PC operating systems, terminal programs, some coding, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Fundamental Electro-Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Strong Communication Skills.
  • Experience with troubleshooting Relay Ladder Logic and PLCs.
  • Basic electrical drawing reading skills.
  • Understanding of Industrial Panel Layout and Design.
  • Industrial automation experience desirable but not required.
